Aim

Promote the development of ICT clusters and increased investment within a partnership of European regions, based on a programme of structured interregional networking.

Approach
|
The approach of this project is based on improving the interergional co-operation process by:
* Appreciating the over-riding importance of developing excellent inter-personnel relationships between staff from different regions participating in the project
* Providing appropriate collaboration tools to manage the process including team communication, meeting and event management , interregional knowledge transfer
* The use of interregional teams from the different disciplines necessary to build information age clusters, viz., broadband, e-learning, business, inward investment and public services
* Provide structured events to facilitaite knowledge exchange, partnership building and opporrtunities for identifying and developing innovative interregional initiatives
* Setting clear goals for developing concrete new interregional initiatives

Objectives

Promote knowledge exchange, networking and co-operation between European regions interested in promoting the development of the Information Society

Develop a number of new interregional initiatives that will assist regions to develop ICT clusters.

Identify practical steps that more geographically peripheral regions can take to increase their share of Information Society investment

Five interregional project proposals developed and designed that will further the development of clusters within the participating regions.

An Internet "knowledge-exchange" designed to improve co-operation between regions interested in developing the Information Society at regional level

Two European level conferences focused on promoting the benefits of the European Union's new Information Society Framework for the period 2007-2013, the "i2010 Framework"
|
Five working groups established to advance innovative eGovernment, eBusiness, Broadband, ICT Inward Investment and eLearning in the partner regions
